When layers of paint, finish or previous refinishing work obscure a piece, stripping can provide the foundation for a proper restoration. The process requires more than simply removing what is on the surface; it requires understanding what is underneath.

We evaluate the furniture and its existing coatings before determining the appropriate stripping process. Old paint, varnish, lacquer and other finishes can be removed as appropriate, preparing the surface for repair, refinishing or a completely new finish. Particular attention is given to detailed areas, edges and decorative elements so the piece is properly prepared for the next stage of restoration.
